What is Office Live?

Microsoft Office Live is a free online system which allows users to save, access and share documents and files. Office Live can be used to group and sort information for designated areas such as school, work or personal assignments.Files and documents can be accessed on any computer terminal by any compatible browsers. Microsoft office online can used whether the computer has microsoft office or not. Documents and files online can be shared through emails with other contacts. No downloading is necessary, only an account needs to be set up.


Impacts of Office Live.

• Storing and sharing of data allows the documents online to be up to date, increasing organisation of group projects and provision of recently updated documents.
• No missed emails or multiple documents that can confuse people within a group. Prevents delays or distruptions of important documents.
• Lessens the use of flash drives, as files are online.
• Not enough storage space, it has only up to 5 gigabytes, meaning it may constraint buisnesses who may wish to use it for massive group projects.
• Can save over 1000 documents in one online place.
• Password protection is available, protecting peoples documents and files.
• Allows people to work at the same time on the same file. Microsoft Office Live can merge the two together resulting in a combined document.

Monday ITP Lesson

Yesterday for IPT we watched youtube videos on the impacts on information systems in the future.

The first video had a lady shopping for food, though everything was done with computers and sensors and no checkout chicks.

It was a cool video, but I wouldn't want to shop like that. It'd be simple to understand, but bothersome to change.

The other video had everything in life in the form of touch screens. Touch screens are annoying.

Mypace data quality

For the group project my group is doing myspace (as previously mentioned) my group members have finished their parts and im serously lagging behinnd. So for homework i have to do all my parts, place the information on blogger or give it to them tomorrow, whatever comes first. I have so far found information on data quality, thanks to wikipedia, but not enough to put on a powerpoint. =.= Its seriously hard, cause myspace is blocked form our schools system and the only way to get the information from myspace is at home, where im not at. (-....-)

Social and ethical issues realting to information systems

For IPT today we have to do work on information systems and the social and ethical issues related to them. My group consists of Jessica and Mariel and we are working on Myspace.

Also for the previous weeks we have worked on data types(text, numbers, audio, video etc) and ISC Diagrams about facebook, skype, email and many others. we have also worked on the processes of information systems whch has the acronym COAST PD.

For our task we have to comment on Facebook and the threat of hackers

Do you think you might be affected by this type of thing if you were not warned.
not really. the article states that if you use certain applications you would be affected, but since i dont know how to use applications on facebook nor would i ever try, i wouldnt be affected. also i dont really use facebook much.

What precautions could you take to reduce the chance of this.

Is facebook an information system?
facebook is an information system as it holds and displays data on different types of people and allows transmitting of data from one person to the next (online chat).
