Requirement Report
A bit delayed but it is here now:
Requirement Report
The purpose of this project is to create a Mark book using the program excel for teacher use. The Mark book is designed to store marks, record student names and classes and calculate grades and percentages of scores. The user of this system is a teacher, tutor or simply anyone that needs a record of names or scores.
Data such as names, student numbers, and scores will be entered into the database. An introductory page will be set up to establish the structure of the mark book. On that page a sample button will be used. When clicked the sample sheet is displayed. The data in the sample sheet is names, student identification, classes, and scores. Another button would display the instructions page. The purpose of this page is to produce a detailed overview of the mark book and instructions on how to run it. The next button is new class that creates a new sheet following the template sheet. This sheet can be edited and used by the user. The last button if time is left would be an exit button, when clicked it would automatically leave the mark book. Information outputs in mark book are the display of class information and student grades.
The Information Processes used are:
Collecting: Information on the students name, class, student number and mark have to be collected.
Organising: The data is then collected and sorted into columns. The columns can be arranged from ascending to descending order. All data is sorted out by the auto filters.
Analysing: V-Lookup assigns the grades to the correct percentage.
Storing and retrieving: Data entered in the information system is stored when saved. Any information retrieved is deduced by the formulas and from the given data present, for example, calculating percentages.
Display: Information is displayed in formatted cells, through the program excel. A computer monitor displays the information.
Overall the project itself is not very big. It is ideally used to display basic information on scores of students by teachers. Compared to other mark book projects this one is minor in expense and time usage.
